Renewable Energy Investments: From Data to Better Decisions

Frederick Research Center and A.P. Georghiades Ltd are pleased to share the successful completion of the RESEIG (Renewable Energy System Evaluation and Investment Growth) project.

The project team from Frederick Research Center comprised Dr. Nicholas Christofides, Dr. Marios Charalambides, and Dr. Nicos Koussis. The project developed an innovative framework for evaluating investments in photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery energy storage, using real operational data. The analysis examined electricity savings, investment costs, system sizing, financial returns, and the impact of electricity market conditions on investment decisions.

The results demonstrate that well-designed renewable energy investments can significantly reduce energy costs while supporting long-term sustainability and business growth. The project has also contributed to knowledge transfer between academia and industry and has led to a scientific papers accepted for presentation in international conferences.
